Maidstone, United Kingdom Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust Full time

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Resilience here at MTW. This apprenticeship will involve working along side the Head of Fire and Safety on a daily basis to promote fire safety across the entire Trust. You will assist with inspections, investigations and risk assessments, as well as helping shape fire safety policy in the future. Along side this you will attend a fully accredited Fire Manager Apprenticeship over a two year period resulting in an industry recognised qualification in fire safety management.

The successful applicant must be able to manage their own schedule and meet deadlines, but will be supported by their line manager and the wider Resilience Team. There will be a need for flexibility in working hours and/or location. Travelling to other sites will be a requirement, however, when travelling between our two main hospital sites a free bus service is provided.

Applicants are encouraged to read the attached job description before applying.
- The role requires an ability to organise and prioritise the workload on a continual basis, dependent upon the demands and needs of both work and study time. The post holder agrees their own workload with the Head of Fire & Safety to meet deadlines throughout the year.
- Manage, arrange and conduct training sessions to ensure adequate Fire Wardens are appointed across the Trust.
- Plan and organise regular reporting activity such as routine inspections and organise remedial work where necessary.
- Co-ordinate meetings with departmental managers with respect to fire risk assessments, procedures and training.
- Assist with the smooth handover of completed works involving the inspection, testing and progressing of defect schedules.
