About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Officer - Facilities Management to join our Commercial and Procurement Team at Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional procurement support to internal clients, including budget managers and customers, to ensure effective procurement of FM services.
  • Liaise with external clients, suppliers, and procuring organisations to support KFRS' procurement work plan.
  • Procure and mobilise new contracts for FM services across the KFRS estate, ensuring compliance with Public Contract Regulation 2015 and KFRS' own policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ongoing contract management of new and existing contracts, providing data and supplier analysis to achieve best value and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and provide support in developing and promoting an innovative approach to procurement and market analysis, including designing and delivering local strategies to maximise collaboration opportunities across the Blue Light sector.
Requirements
  • Experience of Public Sector procurement, including the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and awareness of the new Public Procurement Act 2023.
  • Awareness of the government's Find a Tender Service (FTS).
  • Procurement experience within the area of Property and Facilities Management, ideally with a background in FM services.
  • Ability to study and become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or be working towards full CIPS membership.
