An opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer looking to further their career or a technician looking to progress into a more office-based position.
**Duties will include: -**
- Technical overview of specifications on trailers.
- Reviewing specifications changes/improvements from a maintenance perspective to achieve longevity of assets.
- Advising customers & TRL on trailer specifications/engineering.
- Solely responsible for end of line trailer aftersales. Build completion to manufacturers quality control to customer interaction.
- The responsibility of warranty issues for new equipment.
- Arranging warranty issues to be rectified and then charged back to manufacturer.
- Arranging with manufacturer warranty issues to be rectified in line with customer requirements.
- Dealing directly with manufacturers on build dates of new equipment. Circa 500-700 per annum.
- Trailer telematics, advising customers of EBPMS - electronic brake performance monitoring systems. Advising on performance of brakes.
- Fitting of telematic systems to trailers, following software end of line activations.
- Carry out quality inspections/PDI at manufacturers sites twice a week, to ensure trailers are built to an acceptable standard prior to customer delivery.
- Following PDI inspections, dealing with end of line customer to arrange delivery/location.
- Arranging sub-contractor PDI to be carried out. Organising prices & expectations.
- Liaising with manufacturers/visiting on quarterly occurrence with any warranty issues/ specification requirements/improvements.
- Managing all in-fleet short-term rentals, rates & contracts with customers and enquires.
- Communicating to the Operations team on trailer availability, equipment to be rent ready to meet customer’s collection expectations.
**Key Skills**
Previous engineering experience with articulated trailers preferred
Previous mechanical knowledge with articulated trailers preferred
Understanding of trailer specifications
Telematics experience preferred
Experience dealing with customers & building on relationships
Trailer rental knowledge preferred
