It might seem like a skill reserved for fairy tales, but you don’t get a crystal ball in real life. You'll work with the business to collate and analyse data so that you're able to set the plan for the next 5 years. You thrive off your ability to shape the future of the business.

Luckily, that’s what these roles are all about. We’re looking for 2 Finance Business Plan and Data Lead positions. You'll be responsible for coordination, analysis and communication of our Finance Business Plan. The roles involve a fair bit of modelling and co creation of data with the business units you are partnering. You will be fiercely data-driven, approachable, calm amongst the storm, an excellent communicator and enjoy devising and implementing creative solutions to overcome challenges as they emerge.

You'll support the provision and the analysis of data so it's critical that you'll be able to jump seamlessly between strategic and detailed work. You’ll interact with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, and work with Ofgem to set the plan so you’ll need to build great relationships both internally and with your counterparts at Ofgem.

You'll thrive in a matrix organisation and be able to find a way through ambiguity. And in a newly formed company - I'll come to that later - you’ll be leading the way in encouraging more accountability across all areas of the business, at all levels. You'll need to have an understanding of financial data and data modelling. You pay attention to the details. As far as you're concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing well. You stay focused and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.

There are 2 roles available. One more focussed on Opex and one on Capex. Ying or Yang, which will you choose? The Opex role means being the Central Finance lead on System Operator, Incentives, Innovation, Maintenance, Closely Associated Indirect costs, and Functions including IT and Cyber. The Capex role focusses more on Capex baseline plan, Price Control Deliverables and Uncertainty Mechanisms.

You’ll be part of a new team so, whichever role you take, you’ll have some autonomy to develop the role as you need to. You'll define and implement the overall scope and deliverables to meet the business requirements for Finance Business Plan. You'll have freedom to choose what will work best for you and for the business and shape the role to fit our changing environment.
