About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Health and Wellbeing Coordinator at our Riseholme campus to join fast paced and supportive Health and Wellbeing Team. This role will form part of the wider student services team. This role, alongside the wider team will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of information, advice and guidance on all aspects of student health and wellbeing.
About You
**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- As part of the wider Health & Welfare Team, be responsible for the organisation and delivery of information, advice and guidance on all aspects of student health and welfare.
- Organise and deliver group tutorials, training sessions, drop-in sessions and health focussed events.
- To take an active part in the organisation and delivery of College themed health events.
- Assist with developing policies and procedures to ensure the College continues to provide a great service in an appropriate environment.
- Supervise the counselling team at Riseholme campus.
- Assist in the writing of formal reports on the College Health & Welfare provision.
- Coordinate student needs with relevant staff and, where appropriate, parents/guardians or carers.
- Transport students to and from healthcare appointments as required.
- Develop networks with professional bodies both at regional and national levels which will enable the College to be well informed of current student needs.
- Continuously review and develop the Health & Welfare provision to ensure a service that is fit for purpose.
- Offer one to one session’s with students to allow them to discuss concerns related to their emotional wellbeing.
- Work with and refer to external services and signpost students to promote resilience and independence.
- Take part in all staff College events such as Lambing Sunday & Open events.

**Essential Criteria**
- Relevant qualification in health, wellbeing or welfare related areas.
- GCSE English at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Experience of working with young adults, preferably in an education setting
- Experience of supporting people in crisis
- Experience of working within a team and autonomously
- Experience of attending multi agency meetings to share feedback and set actions.
- Safeguarding knowledge
- Excellent IT skills using Microsoft packages
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Good awareness of local and national support agencies
- Able to form & maintain appropriate relationships & personal boundaries with young people
- Ability to attend collect and monitor data
- Ability to effectively manage time, prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to make demonstrate clear decision making
- Flexible approach to working.
- Ability to remain calm and resilient when supporting people who are in crisis
- Motivation to work with children & young people facing emotional, physical and behavioural difficulties
- Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours & appropriate attitudes to use of authority & maintaining discipline
- Ability to inspire and motivate others
- Fit for the duties of the post

**Desirable Criteria**
- First Aid at Work (or similar) qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience of planning and organising themed events
- Experience of collating information for reporting processes.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced, student facing environment.
