About the role
The Migration Policy and Partnership Officer is an exciting new role providing the opportunity to help shape how the County Council approaches migration, asylum and refugee support.

The post-holder will work in partnership with colleagues and elected members within the County Council, as well other public, private, and voluntary sector organisations to design the County’s approach to refugees and asylum seekers.

This is a role that will allow you to develop and stretch your skills and demands a highly motivated individual.

We particularly welcome applicants with lived experience of migration and/or seeking sanctuary in the UK.

This is a full-time role (37 hours per week). We are flexible about work location with the option to work from home.

Interviews will be held the week commencing: 23rd June 2023

What will you be doing?
You will provide strategic leadership while also working on an operational level to support the coordination and smooth running of the various refugee and asylum schemes.

You will work in partnership with elected members, district councils, and other organisations across the county to tackle issues arising, such as housing, homelessness, and community cohesion.

About you
The role requires a strategic thinker who has excellent interpersonal skills and will be a strong advocate for refugees and asylum seekers.

This is a demanding and rewarding role in a fast-paced and highly politicised area. The role is suitable for someone that wants to make a difference in the migration space and use their skills to successfully navigate complex issues.
