The Division of Medicine and Emergency Care covers a range of different patient care, including, Emergency Department, Cardiology, Respiratory, Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Stroke Rehabilitation and Elderly Care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to undertake the role of Rota Co-ordinator.

**Main Duties**:

- Co-ordinate the emergency on-call rota.
- Record junior doctor's annual leave approval.
- Be responsible for the recording system of Consultant annual, study and professional leave in support of the Service Manager.
- Recording sickness on ESR.
- Create a ward allocation list for each specialty.
- Create new medical rota for each rotation of junior doctors.
- Assist in daily allocation of junior doctors to relevant wards
- Update Rota Watch
- Produce weekly rota for Switch Board and publish on the Intranet.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.

The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its Be Safe BeEquiPPEd campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.

The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive, quality, confidential administration service in support of the Support Manager/Service Manager. Key requirements of the post are to co-ordinate the junior medical staff rota ensuring that sufficient doctors are available to provide a ward and emergency on-call service. The Rota Coordinator will be expected to organise their workload and co-ordinate their activities in conjunction with, and supervised by, the Support Manager/Service Manager to ensure that an efficient service is provided. It is essential that the post holder is able to exercise initiative suitable to the role and is fully supportive to other colleagues in the administrative team.

Applicants should have effective communication skills and be flexible in their approach with a willingness to work as part of a team but also be able to use their own initiative.
