**Job description**:
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Developing policy measures through researching and analysing evidence, potentially working on primary or secondary legislation.
- Leading on key areas of sector-specific policy - which could include the delivery of existing initiatives and/or the development, implementation and evaluation of new initiatives including supporting growth and investment in the creative industries, supporting media and creative industries as new technologies emerge, sector skills development and TV production.
- Working flexibly with key stakeholders to influence interrelated areas of policy. Stakeholders may include other DCMS directorates, government departments, regulators, trade bodies and other external bodies.
- Drafting varied documents including advice, briefings and correspondence for ministers and parliamentary questions.
- Contributing to the Government’s Levelling-Up agenda, promoting sustainability and accessibility.
- Maintaining stakeholder relationships across Government, public bodies and organisations across the technology, media and creative sectors (e.g. the British
- Film Institute and Ofcom to name a few).

The posts all offer a great opportunity to advise Ministers across DCMS including the Minister for Media, Tourism and the Creative Industries and the Secretary of State.

**Person specification**:
Essential Requirements:

- Genuine curiosity about issues in digital, creative, and media sectors and a desire to develop expertise in one of these areas.
- Written and oral communication skills, including the ability to succinctly explain complex and/or technical issues to diverse stakeholders.
- A proven ability to identify, analyse and assess a range of evidence to inform effective decisions.
- A team player, able to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from different backgrounds and disciplines to deliver common goals.
- Highly organised and able to deliver across multiple priorities in a time-pressured environment.

Desirable Skills:

- Knowledge of and interest in the creative industries and/or media sectors
- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders
- Experience of project management
