An exciting opportunity has arisen to take on a Safeguarding Adult advisor role working in the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust safeguarding team.

The post holder must have excellent communication and negotiating skills as in this specialist area of work, there is often the need to constructively challenge practice and decision making to achieve best outcomes and safeguard adults accessing CLCH services.

The post holder should have a sound theoretical background in relation to adult health and safeguarding and be able to demonstrate relevant safeguarding adult’s knowledge and skills. The post holder will have access to clinical and safeguarding supervision and training, to support their personal and professional development.

Safeguarding is the golden thread across all health and social care services and the experience of working in a Safeguarding Adults advisor role in CLCH will equip you with transferrable skills and experience for future career development.

The ability to work independently is essential and frequent travel across the organisational area may be required.

Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) is one of the largest community healthcare organisations in London and Hertfordshire, providing our services to diverse communities/boroughs in 11 London Boroughs - Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Merton, Richmond, Wandsworth, Westminster - and Hertfordshire.
- Ensure staff are supported and empowered to make decisions related to adult safeguarding.
- Assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based Safeguarding Adult Training, including Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty safeguards (DoLS), Domestic abuse, Self-Neglect and Hoarding and PREVENT to staff across the Trust.
- Develop and maintain safeguarding adult resources across the Trust, ensuring these are updated in line with any changes in legislation, to ensure compliance and support best practice.
- Support the development of the Trust “Safeguarding Champion role”, including leading Champion meetings, identifying additional training they required and delivering this to ensure Champions can work effectively within their own areas.
- Work in partnership with safeguarding children advisors/named professionals and peers to deliver a ‘Think Family’ approach when managing adults at risk or those identified as having increased vulnerability who may have children.
- Contribute to audits and the monitoring of standards relating to safeguarding adults. Support the collection and collation of data to inform changes in practice that may be required from the audit.
- Contribute towards the development of safeguarding adult reports to the Trust Board and other local Safeguarding Adult Boards.
