Job description

UWE Bristol’s Carbon and Energy team is responsible for meeting the challenging carbon reduction targets set by the university at this time of climate emergency. This post focuses on the Scope 3 aspects of our carbon footprint, ensuring UWE has a robust methodology to measuring our impacts, and clear actions to meet our targets. Collaborating across UWE Bristol, particularly with the Procurement Team and UWE Bristol suppliers, this post is crucial to support, influence and drive carbon reductions across the Scope 3 categories.

If you have an eye to detail, a methodical approach to understanding data and are curious and interested in influencing and creating change, this is the role for you.

The Carbon & Supply Chain Co-ordinator (Scope 3) is a detective in search of data and detail Collaborating with many teams across the university, and suppliers, the role is open to innovative ways to support accurate data gathering and develop processes and systems to ensure the UWE Bristol carbon footprint meets the ambitious targets set.

This role is pivotal in calculating accurate, reliable data in line with the GHG Protocol and other reporting guidelines, so knowledge and awareness of developments in this field is essential to keep in line with our ambitions to lead the way in best practice Scope 3 reporting and action. Keen to share good practice, the role will work with UWE Bristol suppliers as well as sector bodies to drive wider sector change.

We are a supportive and motivated team on a mission, working closely with the UWE Bristol Sustainability Team, the UWE Bristol Procurement Team and other key stakeholders. **Where is this role based?**

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed - £300m has been invested in new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.

Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
