Our client is a prestigious summer festival with a fast-growing international reputation. With four performances each year, they are now building their own permanent space to provide state of the art rehearsal spaces, production workshops, cafe, offices and a home for their acclaimed community programmed world-class Young Artists scheme. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and growing company.

**Main responsibilities**

As our client is a summer festival, the workload is varied and cyclical:
**Throughout The Year**:
Purchase Accounting
- Ensure all purchase invoices are approved by the appropriate budget holder
- Enter purchase invoices to Sage, manage supplier payments and supplier

Statement Reconciliations
- Raise remittances as required
- Enter Credit Card transactions onto Sage and ensure all supporting documentation is received, authorised and filed.
- Enter Direct Debit transactions to Sage
- Reconcile the petty cash and enter transactions to Sage
- Process employee expense claims ensuring the correct coding, support and authorisation before uploading to Sage for payment

Bank Reconciliation
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations of all bank accounts

Monthly Payroll
- Ensure payroll changes are communicated to the payroll provider in a timely manner
- Process payment schedule (net pay, HMRC, pension) to bank and Sage
- Enrol employees to pension scheme as required and process monthly payments to the scheme
- Ensure all employees have access to the “PayDashboard” to view payslips, P60s etc.
- Manage annual leave administration using BreatheHR (system used for logging annual leave of salaried staff) and calculate holiday pay accrual at year end
- Ensure Death In Service policy is renewed each year and appropriate documentation for employees held

During the performing Season (April to July)
- Liaise with the Company Manager and Production Manager to check invoices and bank details have been received from all contracted Singers and Technical Crew.
- Manage the payments to Artists and Technical Crew using an Excel based system (Advantage Services) to import to Sage (Excel skills essential).
- Arrange floats as required and manage the expense recording and authorisation accordingly
- Oversee the income tax paperwork for Foreign Artists (FEU).
- Work with the Administrator to ensure the “RotaCloud” system is set up for logging of hours and pay rates for Seasonal Staff, ensuring appropriate pay rates are applied.
- Submit to our Payroll Provider and process accordingly.

Year End

Assist the Finance Director with year-end requirements for audit including:

- Prepayments and Accruals
- Reconciliation of income codes, payroll
- Preparation of audit schedules
- Serve as client contact for Audit Staff and queries.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
**Essential**
- AAT or qualified by experience
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including: Filters, Sort, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, SUMIFS
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and enthusiasm to implement
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise workload
- Ability to communicate with clarity to all levels of staff - both financial and non-financial
- A keen eye for detail
- A meticulous and methodical approach to work

**Desirable**
- Excellent working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts Software (or ability to pick up the skill quickly)
- Experience gained in the Arts, Media, Education or Voluntary sectors

An interest in music / appreciation of opera

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
