Norwich, United Kingdom Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant Psychologist to join the Trust’s Research and Development Department to support the Bipolar At Risk Trial ll (BART ll). BART II is an Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation trial which has been awarded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The applicant will be working in a highly novel area of prevention with a team of leading experts in bipolar disorder including those with lived experience. The aim of BART II is to investigate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for those considered “at risk” for bipolar disorder, and to hopefully help shape NHS services for this population group. Data from this study will inform service development. The applicant will receive specialist assessment training and frequent supervision to conduct these specialist assessments in the field. This post would appeal to those looking for experience in a clinical and academic applied research role and is available on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

The post holder will receive training in the assessment measures, communicating with people with mood difficulties, and presenting to clinical teams. They should have strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, have the ability to deliver work according to deadlines, and be flexible and resilient. This post will require frequent travel across the trust footprint.

The Research Assistant Psychologist will support and enhance the clinical research activities of the Youth Mental Health Service (including clinical research assessments, conduct of research, collection of data, development of audit and/or research projects, training, and project work) with a particular focus on BART II.

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other.
