We’re looking for people who are interested in growing their careers with us. To be successful in this role you’ll need proven experience of performing bank reconciliations along with commercial awareness skills and the ability to assess financial data and use your initiative to recommend any corrective actions.

As our new Accounts Assistant at Mortimer Clarke Solicitors, you will be performing a high volume of bank reconciliations as well as building and maintaining relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues across the business. You’ll be based at our offices in Worthing town centre.

In this rewarding role we’ll support you to use your expertise in accounts to support our finance function deliver the best service to our clients. Your new role will involve you carrying out the following duties:

- Using your skills to perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring client monies are protected which will involve reconciliation between bank account, client ledger and cash book
- Billing our clients and checking the transaction files each week to ensure accurate reporting of client collections and court disbursements
- Reconciling and posting court costs
- Transferring funds between clients and posting to relevant journals as well as carrying out purchase ledger and payment runs
- Running month-end reports and ensuring any Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) audits are adhered to.
