**Job Title: Training Coordinator (for 16-24 FE programmes)**

**Salary: £30,000.00 - 34, 000.00 per annum/pro rata**

**Based on-site at our training centre Worthing, West Sussex**

As Training Coordinator you will coordinate the day to day running of asphaleia’s education provision, maintaining a positive environment and ensuring our students have an outstanding learning experience. You will supervise the delivery team and coordinate our FE programmes for 16-24 yr olds - On Track to Work, ESOL and other employability and training programmes. Some travel within West Sussex may be required on occasion.

**About the role**:
You will work with students, promoting their engagement and participation, and ensuring their needs are met and that they achieve well. You will supervise the delivery team, ensuring delivery plans are implemented effectively and that performance is managed. You will develop and nurture good relationships with external stakeholders, including parents/carers, social workers and other professionals, and other delivery organisations.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Coordinate day to day running of education and employment programmes, in line with agreed targets and plans.
- Maintain an orderly, safe, trauma-informed learning environment, with positive student behaviour, tidy spaces and updated/relevant information displays.
- Ensure all students have a high-quality learning experience, and are well-prepared for their next steps beyond asphaleia.
- Create and implement activities and interventions, with students and staff, to improve the student experience, attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
- Supervise staff to ensure all curriculum plans, timetables, policies, working practices and recording requirements are fulfilled, and to continuously improve performance.
- Manage staff leave and absences and make cover arrangements.
- Be the main point of contact for external professionals, parents/carers and other organisations, in relation to students and day to day operations.
- Lead on professional and formal meetings related to students with internal and external professionals, e.g. PEPs, EHCP reviews and other review meetings.
- Maintain and implement organisation safeguarding policies, standards and practices.

**Person specification**

**Essential**
- Understanding and awareness of further education, skills or employability programmes.
- Experience working with young people age 15+ in a relevant setting.
- Experience/knowledge of coordinating and planning activities, projects, or teams.
- Good organisation, planning and record keeping skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident to work on own initiative to find solutions and solve problems.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong digital skills and ability to use Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel.

**Desirable**
- Any combination of the below experience would be beneficial:_
- Teaching experience and/or teaching qualification.
- Knowledge/experience of young people in care, care leavers or asylum seeking young people.
- Knowledge/experience of supporting young people with SEND and EHCPs.
- Knowledge/experience of Ofsted framework for FE and skills.
- Knowledge/experience of careers advice and/or IAG qualification.
- Experience leading meetings with internal and external professionals and/or parents/carers.
- Experience leading interventions to improve student behaviour, attendance, retention, achievement or progression.
- Supervisory or management qualification at min level 3, or equivalent experience supervising or managing the performance of others
