Care for Veterans (CfV) was established in 1919 as the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home to care for soldiers returning from World War I with life-changing disabilities. For over 100 years, it has provided long term nursing, rehabilitation, respite and end of life care to Veterans and their families.

The 62-bed home has been at Gifford House in Worthing since 1933.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as the Volunteer Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of our volunteer program. The Volunteer Coordinator will play a crucial role in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers to ensure the successful implementation of our programs and services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers
- Coordinate volunteer assignments and schedules
- Provide training and orientation to new volunteers
- Supervise and support volunteers in their roles
- Collaborate with staff to identify volunteer needs and opportunities
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to expand volunteer resources
- Plan and execute volunteer recognition events
- Monitor volunteer performance and provide feedback as needed
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and activities

**Requirements**:

- A good general standard of education.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization
- Strong knowledge of volunteer management principles and best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to presnet to groups
- Proficient in using social media platforms for recruitment and engagement purposes
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong administrative skills, including record keeping and data management
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, educate, and motivate volunteers
- Leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners
