**About The Company**:
A Legal Regulator based in Birmingham is looking to take on an Assistant HR Business Partner to join them on a Permanent basis. Your role will be to assist the HR Business Partners with Project work and you will be responsible for Employee Relations (ER) caseworkacross the company.
**Key Responsibilities of the Assistant HR Business Partner**:

- Advise Directors, Managers and staff on Human Resource policies, procedures and practices ensuring the advice provided complies with employment legislation and meets the operational requirements.
- Provide specialist and risk-based advice on the implementation of all employee relations queries including but not limited grievance, disciplinary, capability and performance procedures to ensure a fair, consistent, equitable and speedy resolution. SupportingDirectors and Managers as appropriate, in hearings (Disciplinary, Grievance, Performance and Absence Management).
- Work with HR Business Partners to resolve more complex cases where appropriate and only in cases where their extensive knowledge is required.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and support to the HR Advisors in providing first-line support on any HR related queries.
- Empower managers to proactively manage the throughput and quality of employment related casework by increasing their HR knowledge and ensuring that the appropriate timeframes are met in accordance with the appropriate policy.
- Advise and assist Line Managers in implementing the Group Absence Management Policy to ensure that attendance is maximised, whilst actively contributing to the development of strategies to minimise absence within the organisation.
- Provide reports, trends and qualitative analysis on key people issues and metrics to Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, Head of HR Operations, Head of Resourcing & Talent and HR Manager, Directors, Heads of Unit and Line Managerswith recommendations for action.
- Responsible for taking a lead role on a variety of projects ranging from updating policies following legislative changes, to business change projects such as restructures, through to supporting on the implementation of organisation wide people initiatives,such as wellbeing projects -. This will include undertaking relevant research, drafting, obtaining business approval, and communicating the change, impact, and amendment to operational ways of working.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and changing working practices and implement required changes to minimise risk and promote good employment practice.
- Support HR in the delivery of the HR People Strategy with personal accountability for the delivery of specific projects
- Forge strong trusted relationships within HR, employee, and trade union consultation forums.
- Managing and monitoring the HR inbox, and Consultant’s inbox and responding to queries in a timely manner.
- Drive and ensure compliance with equality and diversity policies, procedures and legislation to ensure that organisation embraces diversity throughout its workforce and support the delivery of the EDI agenda.
- Contribute to and promote effective HR best practice in collaboration with HR colleagues.

**Experience and Skills Required for the Assistant HR BP**:
**Essential**:

- Proven experience of managing and providing tactical, risk-based HR advice on multiple ER cases
- Demonstrable experience of leading on HR projects from inception to completion
- Proven experience of supporting change management programmes
- Demonstrates an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to deal confidently and assertively with senior individuals
- Coaching and mediation experience
- Proven experience of reporting and analysing on HR activities and trends in people/issues and metrics
- Proven experience of supporting absence and performance management including moderation and pay reviews
- Ability to deliver and monitor value added HR services based on demonstrable understanding of business needs
- Able to focus on results through planning ahead, managing expectations and solving problems
- Ability to influence, collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of management and colleagues
- A proactive and organised approach, a resilient self-starter, able to adapt to shifting priorities
- **Desirable**:

- CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience of working with HR systems and PSE in particular
- Experienced in the delivery of HR services in professional services and unionised environments
- Identify and take responsibility for own development and support development of others
