This is an exciting opportunity to join the Upper GI and Endocrine Surgery Admin Team based at City Hospital.

We are looking to appoint a part-time Waiting List Coordinator on a permanent contract. The post is 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player, with excellent organisational and communication skills.

You will have a good understanding of the two week wait cancer targets, 18 week RTT pathways and the Patient Access Policy. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of patient confidentiality and be able to remain calm under pressure.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for adding/removing patients to the NUH waiting list and co-ordinating/booking admission to hospital, using hospital IT systems, e.g. Medway PAS

Act as the first point of contact within the Trust for Upper GI and Endocrine patients including booking procedures for cancer patients. You will also liaise with other trusts to gather patient information and coordinate surgery dates accordingly.

Responsible for management and accurate validation of consultant waiting lists, maintaining accurate records to ensure all admissions for elective and cancer procedures are outcomed and completed on Medway PAS, in line with Trust Access Policy.

Working to agreed protocols to negotiate patient admissions

Provide non-clinical advice regarding patient admission process seeking further advice from the Consultants or lead nurses as required.

Work flexibly and provide cross cover for colleagues in the Department

Attending/organising meetings

Key point of contact for consultants

Communication link regarding consultant leave/service issues

Telephone calls inbound/outbound relating to patients specific care, in a confidential manner

Undertake any other duties and responsibilities, which may reasonably be required.

Participate in team, professional and personal development activities.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
