We are seeking to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and dynamic Social Work Consultant to join Hampshire CAMHS. We are very excited to announce this new role, which is dedicated to the leadership and continuing development of the social work profession within CAMHS and to provide expert clinical intervention for service users with complex and challenging needs.

We currently have over 50 employed social workers at Hampshire CAMHS, most of whom work in generic roles such as Team Manager or Mental Health Practitioner. We have worked hard to make sure that social workers are well supported and that they are enabled to champion their profession within an NHS Mental Health setting.

Working closely with the Directors for Social Work, the Hampshire Clinical Lead and Professional Leads for nursing, psychology, doctors and psychological therapies, you will be supporting a number of key ambitions, which include: further developing the 'in-house' ASYE programme to enable us to recruit newly qualified social workers who have a passion to work in NHS Mental Health Services. Supporting the running and development of our existing social work forums within SPFT. Developing robust clinical and professional supervision matrix for all social workers to make sure that they are fully supported and enabled to reach their potential at SPFT. Providing expert Social Work clinical interventions for the children, young people and families whom we work with, ensuring that you are involved in and keep up to date with national social work legislation, strategy, and developments as well as working with and communicating externally with other Social Work consultants/trainers/universities with the aim to draw upon wider expertise, models of good practice to develop and promote excellent social work practice within the service.

We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and families across Hampshire.

To provide expert clinical intervention for service users with complex and challenging needs.
- To provide consultation informed by highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theoretical knowledge and experience.
- 50% of the role will be dedicated to Professional Leadership for Social Work and 50% to Clinical Work to include patient facing &/or pathway leadership providing expert social work intervention, advice and consultancy.
- To provide expert professional and clinical leadership across the Social Work workforce within Hampshire CAMHS and multidisciplinary teams.
- Advise and liaise with the Director of Social Work, with regard to any specialist social work issues from within the care group.
- Enhance the quality of the service user experience by providing high level training and supervision to develop social work staff and multi professional staff knowledge and skills. To lead within the CAMHs service on promoting clinical innovation and delivering continual development of social work practice based upon evidence and relevant research.
- Provide expert social work advice as the Hampshire CAMHs Lead Social Worker & Professional Lead for Social Work as a member of the Integrated Governance leadership team for the care group.
- Provide expert social work advice to the Service Director and Clinical Director of the care group.
- Work closely with other Social Work Leads internally and externally to promote excellent practice and high quality within the Trust. Contribute to the Trusts Social Work strategy and participate with the Trusts overall clinical strategy
- Deputise for colleagues within the CAMHs Leadership Group as required.
- To facilitate relevant work streams to consider provision of social work, staff development and lead on social work recruitment initiatives.
- To oversee staff compliance with Social Work professional standards and regulation requirements as set out by relevant professional bodies.
