**Job Title: Finance and Payroll Assistant**
**Salary**: Up to £29,000 per annum
**Location**: Newcastle

Our client, and inspiring and people-first organisation, is looking for a Finance and Payroll Assistant on a permanent basis.

**Key Responsibilities**: As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing broader support in financial activities. Key responsibilities include:

- Efficiently manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Handle payroll queries and discrepancies promptly and professionally.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and implement changes accordingly.
- Assist in credit control activities, maintaining healthy customer relationships and minimizing outstanding debts.
- Contribute to the purchase ledger function by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the finance team on month-end and year-end closing processes.

**Qualifications and Experience**: To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:

- Previous experience in an accounts and payroll position.
- Solid understanding of payroll systems and processes.
- Knowledge of pension administration.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and external stakeholders.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
