Medical Administrator/typist

**Job Summary**:
- Type and format documents, reports and correspondence accurately;
- Proofread and review documents for errors before finalising;
- Maintain electronic and paper files of documents;
- Ensure confidentiality and data protection protocols are followed;
- Assist in general office duties as required, which may include but is not limited to:
- Liaising with external agencies to ensure that referrals are processed efficiently;
- Manage all enquiries in an effective manner;
- Maintain relevant databases/trackers;
- Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare records;
- Input data into the patient’s healthcare records;
- Arrange patient appointments and admissions;
- Answer incoming phone calls and deal with the callers request appropriately;
- Manage all administrative queries as necessary taking account of appropriate confidentiality measures;
- Support clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested;
- Pass accurate and timely messages to Practice Manager and Consultant taking action as appropriate;
- Issue all patient invoices, receive payments and issue receipts;
- Chase all overdue invoice payments whether by insurance companies or patients directly;
- Maintain practice diary and co-ordinate booking in private clinics, operating lists and other private practice to ensure no clashes;
**Experience**:
- Proven experience as a Typist or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and typing software
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Familiarity with office equipment such as printers and scanners
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
