**37 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks working 40 weeks per year**

**Your role**:
Within the Attendance Service you will be the local authority officer for a child, young person, and family where consideration for statutory intervention for non-school attendance has been identified. This will include enforcement case work, alongside the statutory duties for Education Penalty Notices and Children Missing Education. You will work in partnership with teams across children’s services, schools, and wider partners in line with the key priorities of the Attendance Strategy and the wider Excellence in Education Strategy.

You will be a team player who is highly motivated and organised with the ability to multi-task. You should be able to manage time effectively. You will be a great communicator who is passionate about building positive relationships with children, their families, and education providers. You will be an effective problem solver who will come up with positive and robust solutions to problems.

The Attendance Service is a small but busy team that sit within the Inclusion Service of Education for the Local Authority. We have good relationships with schools, wider Children’s Services, and other organisations in order to work together to improve attendance. You will be supported to access appropriate council led induction training, alongside the need for any specific training for this role. We are dedicated to working collaboratively with our schools and education providers alongside fulfilling our statutory responsibilities. We will give you a stimulating and supportive environment to work in and will provide you with the learning opportunities to help your development.
