**Background**:
The Property & Facilities Department (PAF) is responsible for providing a safe and efficient working environment for all University staff and students. PAF manages all building services and the strategic development of the estate contributing to the delivery of City University, London’s strategic and operational objectives

The post holder will assist with the delivery of first class facilities management activity to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and cost effectively with issues being dealt with professionally and in a timely manner.

**Responsibilities**:
To ensure that specific buildings designated to the role, meet agreed standards of presentation, identify any remedial actions and working with the Head of Facilities Management and other stakeholders for close out within minimum timeframes.

To establish working relationships and act as the main point of contact for users within nominated buildings.

To have a detailed understanding of how the buildings are used and the activities of the building users in order to support same.

To implement Health and Safety policy measures including fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures

To assist with the organisation and implementation of occupant decant and moves

To ensure general maintenance of the buildings fabric, fixtures, fittings and any other miscellaneous tasks that may be requested are carried out by the appropriate personnel.

To assist with investigating and solving customers' problems and customer complaints.

**Person Specification**:
A reasonable level of Health and Safety training and awareness

Demonstrable experience in the facilities arena.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility of approach and ability to constantly re-evaluate competing priorities.

Problem solving skills and an eye for detail

Good oral and written communication skills and with ability to work effectively with staff at all levels

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
