An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Secretary/Administrator to join the Department of Anaesthesia within the Surgical Care Group. The role is fixed term for 6 months and will be based on the Aintree site.

The postholder will be expected to attend monthly departmental meetings, transcribe notes and ensure action points are followed up. Other duties will include providing support with the day-to-day management of the electronic rota system, organising timetables for medical students and monitoring leave requests for junior medical staff.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.
The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.

Implement and maintain effective manual and electronic filing systems and archive records/files as required.
Be the central point to take messages from staff to report sickness absences. Initiate notification, informing Payroll/HR and recording details on Trust systems and files.
Provide administrative support to the management team including scanning documents and typing letters as required.
Assist in the administration of staff related matters, prepare relevant paperwork regarding staff changes for approval.
Maintain and update annual leave, sickness and training records for all staff.
Gathering relevant information in respect of sickness absence to include; reporting, OH requests, back to work interviews, Occupational Therapy, DSE assessment, workplace risk assessment and phased return to work agreements and ensuring all information is entered into ESR system.
Gathering relevant information in respect of disciplinary issues to include;
investigation reports, informal/formal meetings and letters, punctuality
and staff counselling and entry of relevant information into ESR system.
Provide administrative support for the recruitment of new staff.
Work unsupervised and plan and prioritise own work effectively.
