**Faculty Representative Part-Time Officer (4 posts)**

**Grade C1 - £10.42 per hour**

**Hull University Students' Union Ltd is looking to appoint 4 Faculty Representatives to represent Faculty of Arts, Culture & Education, Faculty of Science & Engineering, Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Business, Law & Politics.**

**About the role**

Work with both electedand appointed student representatives. The post holder will raise the profileof course representatives in their faculty, build community and inclusiverepresentation within HUSU and the University.

Carry out such duties andfulfil such obligations to support the HUSU Education Zone. In particular:
a. Attend:

- Trainingevents
- EducationZone meetings
- EducationZone Open Meetings
- UnionCouncil

b. Regular liaison with the Education Zone

c. AttendEducation Zone Open Meetings and Education Zone meetings;
d. Representand support students in the Faculty and act as channel of communication between them, the Union and theUniversity;
e. Engagestudents in their Faculty on policy developments of Union Council

f. Supportand develop campaigns on educational issues;

**Internal**

The FacultyRepresentatives shall be responsible for the following:
a. Avoting member of Education Zone Open Meetings;
b. Avoting member of Education Zone;
c. Avoting member of Union Council;
d. Reportingon activities at Education Zone meetings and Education Zone Open Meetings;
e. Activelysupporting the promotion of recruitment of Course Reps in programmes within their area.

f. Any other committees, groups orresponsibilities deemed necessary for the position.

**External**

The FacultyRepresentatives shall represent Hull University Students Union to theUniversity and be a voting member on the following University committees:
a. UniversitySenate (2 places only);
b. FacultyEducation and Student Experience Committees;
c. Anyother Committees deemed necessary.

**Reporting andinformation management**

Prepareand present reports on matters relating to Course Reps in the Faculty Repsarea (FOSE, FACE, FHS and FBLP) in particular feedback from Student StaffForums and University Committee meetings.

Usethe Student Unions CRM (SUMS) effectively to distribute feedback from studentsto the relevant Course Rep

**Team working**

Work aspart of a team to cover colleagues if absent for any reason to ensure thecontinued delivery of activities across all areas of the Education Zone.

**Generalduties and responsibilities**

Ensure confidentiality at all times in the handling and dissemination ofinformation and data and embedding and implementing GDPR across the workload.

Carryout all duties in line with HUSUs policies and in line with the organisationsvalues and strategic aims.

Ensurethe Health and Safety policies and procedures are followedat all times.

Makeconnections and network with colleagues across the university and in otherStudent Unions.

Carryout any other duties as may be required from time to time under the overallscope of the role.

**Qualifications/Training**

**Essential**
- Currently studying at the University of Hull
- Currently studying in the relevant faculty for the role

**Experience**

**Essential**
- Experience as a Course Representative and/or StudentRepresentative

**Desirable**
- Experience of supervising volunteers
- Experience of leading others
- Experience of working in an office environment

**Skills/Abilities/Knowledge**

**Essential**
- Knowledge of Hull University Students' Union
- Ability to work as well as part of a team
- Good and confident communication skills both verbal and written
- Knowledge of issues experienced by students in the relativefaculty (FACE, FOSE, FBLP, FOHS)
- Friendly and enthusiastic
