Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Working 37.5 hours a week, you'll work alongside the team at Badby Park, where you will care for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries. Reporting to the qualified Speech and Language Therapist, you will carry out therapyprogrammes for communication and swallowing impairments. This will see you provide support with the communication strategies including communication aids, handling communication groups and participating in joint therapy sessions with other disciplines.
You will provide administrative support to the Lead Therapy Assistant and qualified staff as you assist with managing the 12-week timetable, questionnaires, arranging events and communicating with the units.
As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will assist in delivering therapeutic care under the supervision of a qualified professional. You will attend monthly peer supervision with other TA's, as well as monthly group supervision/training with relevantprofessionals to enhance your skills and knowledge.
You will turn your hand to all equipment duties, ensuring all sessions planned are fully supported and equipped. This will see you complete audits and report any damages or shortages to the senior members of the team.

**Your responsibilities**:
- Assist SLT in supporting staff in their knowledge of modified diets and fluids
- Help ensure any planned admissions have been added to the timetable and liaise with a relevant professional to ensure all equipment is accessible and in place
- Participate with weekly timetable changes sessions
- Manage your timetable effectively with guidance and supervision from qualified staff
**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:
- Experience within a similar setting is desirable but not essential
- Healthcare experience desirable
- Demonstrate good communication and listening skills
- Demonstrate an ability to ensure confidentiality
