Volunteers make a huge contribution to our hospitals by supporting patients and staff on a daily basis and directly help to improve the patient experience. Volunteering has never been so high profile; this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward

This role ideally requires an individual with a strong administrative background but also someone who is comfortable interacting with members of the public, staff and volunteers. This is a people
- focused role and will provide the post holder the opportunity to regularly meet new people and work collaboratively with both departments inside the Trust and external community organisations.

The role would suit an outgoing individual who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive team during a particularly exciting time of change and development within the service.

Based at Worthing Hospital, we are a small and friendly team responsible for recruiting, managing and supporting volunteers throughout their time with us. We work closely with our colleagues in the Voluntary Service Teams at St Richard’s Hospital and Brighton Hospital, and the Trust's dedicated charity; 'My University Hospitals Sussex.'

As the Voluntary Services Coordinator, you will play a key role in the recruitment and selection process of new volunteers and be responsible for the effective administration, coordination and placement of the volunteer resource across Worthing Hospital.

You will act as a main point of contact for existing volunteers, providing on going support during their volunteer journey and ensuring high quality, mutually beneficial volunteering opportunities are offered.

Raising the profile of volunteering within the Trust is an integral part of the role; using social media and through the production of promotional materials you will aim to promote the service internally, and externally, by attending outreach events at local schools and colleges.

The role is primarily based at Worthing Hospital, but travel to Chichester and Brighton, to work with Voluntary Service colleagues will occasionally be required.

Part time hours / job share will also be considered.
