**Job summary**:
Located at the heart of DBT’s English Regions (ER) Directorate, this new Central Team plays a leading role in communicating the ER offer; shaping future objectives and workstreams for the Directorate; aligning our strategic objectives with the wider Exports and Trade Group, as well as with Departmental and HMG priorities; and setting targets, monitoring, and evaluating performance to inform future decision making.

This role is within the Best Practices and Learning and Development Teams who leads on ensuring consistent delivery across ER, Corporate functions, and providing operational data for performance and analysis. The team comprises a Project Management Office, a **L&D and Capability Building tea**m and the **Initiatives Design and Implementation team**; the role will sit across both teams. The role will focus on helping to make system-level changes to the way English Regions works by bringing together and promoting best practice and a co-ordinated approach to cross-departmental events, enabling your colleagues to perform better which in turn will help businesses to get getter support throughout their exporting journey.

**The Role**:
The role is to support the work of the Bast Practice, New Initiatives and Learning & Capability Development Teams in the English Regions Central Teams. Duties will include:

- Making the learning offer accessible including responsibility for editing, maintaining and improving the English regions portal on the DIT learning hub.
- Responsibility for developing relevant learning units for the International Trade Profession.
- Leading on relationship with DIT HR and the Professions team to guide English regions team members to the right profession.
- Identifying and matching learning opportunities to needs identified by English regions colleagues.
- Managing the monitoring and reporting of Mandatory learning requirements for English Regions.

You will assist the Best Practice and New Initiatives Team in developing and implementing programmes across the English Regions.

You will assist in:

- Co-ordinating and implementing regionally led initiatives (e.g., International Trade Advisors and Sector Alignment, Overseas Post alignment, Events Approach).
- Assisting with organisation and delivery of ER participation in major events e.g. International Trade Week, Global Investment Summit etc, working closely with DBT Comms & Marketing,
- Co-ordinating ER representation on relevant Boards and Board Management.
- Maintaining a Knowledge Management Repository of best practice from across the ER.
- Assisting the High Level Visits Group.
- Act as secretariat to the High Level Visits Group.
- This will include organising and minuting monthly high-level visit meetings.
- Working with HMTC Teams and HMTC representatives to ensure they are introduced to English Regions teams at the right level and in the right place.
- Understanding and communicating how English regions Teams work with HMTC region.

**Essential Criteria**
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels.
- Great coordination/organisation skills.
- Ability to deliver events / other activities on-time.
- Competent using MS Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility of approach to work across a number of different workstreams.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Project management qualifications or experience (E.g., APM, Agile).
- Good understanding of external business environment and International Eco System.
