Neonatal Network Care Coordinator

Northampton, United Kingdom Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust Full time

Neonatal Networks were formed following recommendations from the Department of Health in 2003 and their objective is to ensure that babies and their families receive high quality care which is equitable and accessible for all. Neonatal Networks are the key central point for clinicians and nursing staff to communicate and collaborate.

The role of the Network Care Coordinator is to work with nursing and medical staff in the neonatal units across the East Midlands region to support and monitor the implementation of Family Integrated Care.

The individual will also work alongside the EMNODN units supporting their journey towards achieving UNICEF-UK’s Neonatal Baby Friendly Standards, and Bliss’ Baby Charter standards.

Northampton General Hospital is one of the largest employers in the area and we are on an exciting journey. All our divisions are committed to doing things better, with more efficiency as we update, modernise, and advance. We have also entered a Group Model with neighbouring Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and become University Hospitals of Northamptonshire.

We want to recruit the best people to deliver our services across the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire and help to unleash everyone’s full potential. As an organisation, we value how we communicate and promote our vacancies to all communities.

We understand that we need to work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and make sure the environment they work in is inclusive and collaborative.

We have active Networks that promote and support colleagues from all backgrounds. This ensures everyone feels supported and has a sense of belonging working for Kettering and Northampton General Hospitals.

The post holder must be a registered nurse or midwife, educated to, or working towards, degree level. Recent neonatal experience is essential, alongside a demonstrable passion for Family Integrated Care.

Experience of developing, implementing and managing change in neonatal services is desirable. A full current driving licence is required as the role involves travelling between neonatal units across the East Midlands.

There are 11 neonatal units within the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (EMNODN) which spans Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Lincolnshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated neonatal nurse, with experience in Family Integrated Care, to join the Network team. The post is for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
