**About the role**

As part of the Council’s major new Homelessness Transformation Programme, this is an exciting and diverse new role cutting across the entire housing options service in which you will lead and manage a team providing a vital frontline homelessness service. The team will provide essential case support to our caseworkers and assist in providing PA support to the wider service, ensuring that we successfully deliver assistance to the residents of the borough. You will also coordinate the provision of information such as homelessness returns and freedom of information (FOI) requests, ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner.

You will have good leadership skills and experience of managing a team in a public sector organisation. Confident and experienced, you will be comfortable managing a team working under high demand at the forefront of the service. You will possess in-depth knowledge of the strategies for preventing homelessness and the main housing options initiatives provided by statutory and voluntary organisations, and of housing legislation and its implications upon local authorities and housing providers. You will be ambitious and willing to lead on new, innovative ways of working at the cutting edge of practice in this area. You may have an existing background in the homelessness sector and are seeking to take on the next challenge in your career in the sector.

**Additional Details**

Tower Hamlets vision for our borough is that: people are aspirational, independent and have equal access to opportunities; we are a borough that our residents are proud of and love to live in; and we are a dynamic, outcomes-based council using digital innovation and partnership working to respond to the changing needs of our borough. We want people who aspire to our TOWER values: Together; Open; Willing; Excellent; Respect.

Tower Hamlets has a zero-tolerance approach to, and works to eradicate, all forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, status as a civil partner, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and maternity and looks to employ a diverse workforce representative of those groups. We recognise that people can also be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class.

We welcome applicants interested in flexible working arrangements and also applicants who live in the borough.
