**The purpose of the role is to**:

- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

Canolfan Goffa Ffestiniog in Blaenau Ffestiniog are looking for an experienced, organised and enthusiastic Receptionist/Administrative Assistant.

Previous experience of working within a GP Practice would be beneficial and knowledge of the EMIS clinical system is desirable, however training can be given. The demands of a GP practice can change on a daily basis and therefore this role will be challenging. The post holder will be booking appointments and dealing with patient queries therefore excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner is required.

Proficient IT skills (including experience of Microsoft office) is also required as the post holder will also be undertaking a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the practices, including scanning, and data coding of information. You will also need to be computer literate with experience of Word and Excel, be a team player and able to maintain confidentiality.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post with a minimum of level 3.
