The role

You will lead the Inside sales teams, currently in both Cambridge and Berlin, delivering on business objectives, developing an industry leading digital sales organization and incubating talent for the wider Commercial team. As a leader within the EMEA sales management team, you will leverage your personal skills and specific capabilities as a leader of inside sales to contribute to the strategy, development and execution of the EMEA sales team.

Responsibilities will include
- Develops, and executes on the Regional business plan to meet assigned targets and objectives.
- Recruits, develops, coaches and manages the inside sales team.
- Leads, inspires, organizes and directs both the tactical and strategic activities of the inside sales team.
- Ensures the skill development of the team as a digitally savvy technology sales team
- Ensures that Illumina’s commitment to customer satisfaction is performed, delivered, and constantly improved.
- Role models Illumina values and develops culture where the customer comes first, innovation and risk taking are encouraged with a strong sense of community and collaboration aligned to overall Illumina culture
- Establishes territory quotas and instill a mindset of over achievement.
- Ensures that sales staff achieves their forecasts, follows company guidelines/practices/policies, and provide timely development plans to correct for underperformance.
- Leverages company tools and continually looks for ways and tools to enhance sales ability and increase productivity.
- Collaborates deeply with other departments (e.g., Marketing, Customer Solutions).

Preferred background, skills and experience
- Considerable experience of driving inside sales in a technology driven environment
- Extensive leadership skills, motivating, developing and nurturing a team working across EMEA
- Collaborative, people focused and aware of current trends in inside sales
- Degree qualified, able to learn technical information quickly.
- Science background not necessary but strong inside sales is preferred.
