**Ambulance Care Assistant - Team Leader**
**Location: Grange University Hospital, **Cwmbran NP44 8YN**
**Contract type: Permanent**
**Hours: 36 per week, this will include 2 x 10 hour shifts and 16 hours management tasks**
**Salary: £20,831 per annum**
**Driving: Full UK Driving Licence required, to drive a manual gearbox British Red Cross vehicle, must have held driving licence for a minimum of 2 years**
**_Can you lead a team of Red Cross Ambulance Care Assistants who provide high quality care to patients, in partnership with the local Health Resettlement Team and Service Commissioner and p_**_erform the duties of an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA)._**
**A day in the life of an Ambulance Care Assistant - Team Leader will include;**
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of PTS operations in a specified geographical area. This will involve leading a team of paid and voluntary ACAs, as well as maintaining the logistics function and CQC compliant working for the operational base(s).
- Attending meetings, administration work.
- Your warm, caring nature and positive attitude will bring comfort to patients. You’ll be sensitive when working with vulnerable people and have no trouble going the extra mile to make them feel comfortable, safe and cared for.
Your previous customer service experience, as well as understanding and awareness of the differing physical needs of our service users and a genuine interest in their well-being; will help people in your local community.
- Undertake clinical supervision/guidance and mentor new and less experienced personnel, providing feedback on performance.
- Ensure the effective management of the PTS operation functions.
- Line Manage a team of paid and voluntary ACAs, dealing with personal development, performance management and implementing operational rotas.
**The role of Ambulance Care Assistant - Team Leader might be for you if you have;**
- A full driving licence which allows you to operate a manual transmission vehicle (please note that, due to vehicle insurance policy requirements, applicants must have held their licence for a minimum of two full years).
- Guiding staff and problem solving, have attention to detail.
- You can bring your strong customer service or patient caring skills to the British Red Cross.
- Flexible - comfortable working 10-hour shifts including unsocial hours, bank holidays, evenings and weekends as required. Our service runs 7 days a week, day and night. We will provide you with a rota in advance for you to choose what shifts you can help cover.
