Executive Assistant and PA to the statutory Director of Children’s Services**
**London Borough of Havering**
**Contract: Permanent**

The London Borough of Havering is looking to recruit an Executive Assistant and PA to the statutory Director of Children’s Services.
- To link and support the Independent chair of the practice Improvement board (PIB) to ensure the effective running of the PIB
- To support and oversee timely responses to Freedom of Information requests.
- Support the Executive Support Manager for people on day to day business issues, projects and programmes.
- Provide high quality personal assistance, secretarial and administrative support to the DCS in collaboration with the Executive Support Manager. including oversight and administration of a number of Boards for example - Adopt London East; Early Help; YJB; VAWAG; Adolescent Safeguarding.
- Provide excellent customer service using existing processes.
- Supervise a group of Business support officers within the Starting Well Department including regular 1:1’s and PDR discussions
- Engage with customers, internal and external, providing resolution to issues in collaboration with colleagues within the service.
- To initiate team working on performance issues and make recommendations for resolution
- To research and resolve Member queries raised by/through the Chief Executive, Strategic Director of People or DCS
- To manage and/or deal with higher level enquiries and information requests
- To act as coordinator for the DCS in relation to Agency Decision Making for Adoption decisions
- Ensure that the ELT member’s office processes support relevant democratic processes within the Council, including communication both with Committees and Members.
- To support one-off projects on behalf of the Director as required.

The successful applicant will:

- Be experienced in providing a wide ranging, complex support service to a Senior Management position.
- Be experienced in maintaining records and data handling
- Be experienced in handling higher level complaints and queries and complaint resolution and dealing with conflict
- Have good inter-personal skills able to work for and alongside people from all levels and all walks of life
- Have excellent literacy skills Have the ability to meet deadlines and to facilitate others achieving the same, from all levels within the organisation
