The Fellow will work to develop the research questions aimed at understanding biological mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other chronic diseases in the South Asian populations. A wide-range of approaches may be considered including epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, bio-marker discovery, bio-informatics, and data-linkage to identify possible causal pathways and potential correlations of risk factors and the incident cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and related metabolic disturbances among South Asia Biobank LOLIPOP 100K participants, and in other available data-sets.

We are looking to appoint an individual with a background in epidemiology, biostatistics or other related quantitative disciplines, with analytical and interpretative skills. Clinical training and relevant epidemiological insight and experience is essential.

- You must have completed your certificate of training in General Practice and have full registration with the GMC
- You should be able to demonstrate a proven interest in public health with contributions to high quality peer reviewed publications
- Experience in managing and recruiting participants
- Demonstrated appropriate technical skills to perform research in the field (e.g. laboratory, analytical, programming, or fieldwork skills) and to design, plan and lead high quality original research, project managing the research activity

This is a full time and fixed term post until 30 July 2024. You will be based at St. Mary’s Campus (Paddington),** **moving to White City Campus/Study Site Norwood Hall, Norwood Green, UB2 4LA.

**GMC Registration is an essential requirement for this post**

**Please note, if you’re not on an approved NHS training programme you will be appointed on the Clinical staff not holding consultant contracts salary scale.**
- Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview._
