Kids Planet Day Nurseries is an award-winning childcare group with a growing portfolio of 130+ nurseries. Our colleagues are extremely passionate about quality childcare and are led by our CEO, Clare Roberts, recently awarded an OBE for her services to education.
The SEND Support Team Member will be based between our Head office based in Lymm, and would be expected to be out in the field supporting our nursery based teams. The role is 40 hours per week over 5 days. The role is field-based and will require significant amounts of travel and occasional overnight stays away from home. The role holder is required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business; this will include some evening or weekend work to support improvement, for example, to deliver evening training sessions.
The purpose of this role is to effectively raise awareness and support children, parents and team members in ensuring Kids Planet is inclusive of all children’s needs and takes in to account the individual and additional needs of all children. The SEND Support Team member should possess the ability to coach and train team members and be knowledgeable in all relevant documentation/strategies and Local Authority pathways to enhance the inclusive provision and additional needs for children within the Kids Planet Group.
**Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following**:
- To oversee the day to day operation of the SEND policies and procedures within Kids Planet settings.
- Support Nursery SENDCos and team members to liaise with parents of children with additional needs to discuss any additional support for the individual child.
- Support Settings to implement Kids Planet/local authority Individual Educational Plans in line with the Kids Planet Graduated Approach set out in the SEND Code of Practice.
- Work collaboratively with Nursery SENDCOs to ensure all appropriate paper work within the SENDCo file is accurately completed and up to date.
- Provide guidance for the coordination of provision for children with additional needs and disability, ensuring that rooms are adapting equipment/activities where practical and safe to do so.
- To support the Nursery SENDCos with all relevant transition processes and meetings eg. School transition.
- Contribute to Ofsted inspections when needed.
- Conduct ongoing SEND review meetings with the Nursery SENDCo’s outlining action plans to ensure practice is meeting the Statutory requirements in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
**The ideal applicant will possess**:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years
- Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience of supporting children with SEND
- Experience in supporting practitioners with SEND Strategies
- Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively liaise with parents & other professionals.
- Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
