SEND Support Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Educational Policy Specialist to join our team at Nottinghamshire County Council. As a key member of our SEND team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people with SEND receive the support they need.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing requests for EHCP assessments, working closely with education settings, professionals, and families, and providing challenge and support to education leadership teams.
We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2014, and experience in using case management systems and IT programmes.

Responsibilities- Lead Professional: Act as lead professional in decision making regarding EHC Needs Assessment Requests.
- Interface between LA and Education Settings: Ensure that the graduated approach to supporting CYP with SEND across a range of settings has been applied and is fully understood when requests for EHC needs assessments are received by the LA.
- Collaboration and Partnership Working: Work in partnership with professionals, children, young people, and their parents/carers, embedding co-production while using person-centred approaches.
