We produce experiences that bring people together to play, get creative with science and explore different ideas.

**What will you do in this role?**

**Role Specific Responsibilities**
- Project manage the Research Collective programme. Using and developing innovative practices to develop partnership research programmes across our city in community, academic and industry contexts.
- Connect with existing and new partners and develop understanding of their needs and interests.
- Develop and deliver activities using participation and equity approaches that enable a diverse range of people to better understand, influence and lead research themes.
- Build on the legacy and learning of our community and young researcher projects to continue to amplify under-represented voices in research.
- Work with established and new partners to explore how We The Curious can support communities of specific need and value within research contexts.
- Work with partners to ensure there is continuous evaluation and learning for all that can contribute to best practice.
- Support the dissemination of findings by community and young researchers to create appropriate opportunities for these voices to be amplified and have influence within research and policy.
- Participate in relevant cross-departmental working groups at We The Curious.
- Support the Open Source Science Lead with any other reasonable tasks.

- Responsible for carefully following safeguarding policies and procedures and raising any concerns to manager/Designated Safeguarding Officer.
- Work alongside the Open Source Science Lead, the Inclusion Catalyst and the Development team to support funding bids and reports relating to your area of work.
- General responsibility for departmental compliance with GDPR.
- Occasional out of hours work and travel to events.
- Due to the responsibilities of this role, you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

**What we're looking for from you**
- You are collaborative and experienced in developing participatory activity and programmes
- You have a broad knowledge of Bristol’s communities and an in-depth knowledge of at least one particular underserved community.
- You have a commitment to inclusive practice and community engagement and have an understanding of how people are excluded from institutions such as universities, science centres and the Science Technology Engineering Maths sectors.
- You are interested in championing under-represented voices in the process creating new thinking and ideas
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are comfortable collaborating with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds.
- You are keen to learn and develop your approach and skills.
- You are organised with great time management skills, have the ability to prioritise and a creative approach to problem solving.
- You have an understanding of safeguarding, ethics and best practice when working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- You don’t need a scientific qualification, but we’d like you to have a commitment to developing an understanding of the role of science in society. You need to care about the role of science in society
