**Hours**:

- Monday - Friday (Flexible Hours)
To work in Inner Central East Bristol on this 3-year project exploring a Community Development approach to older people's groups, supporting the reengagement of older people with their communities using a community development approach. This role will be managedby the clients Locality Hub Manager and will work in partnership with different Trusts and other projects that they fund to promote and contribute to the professional running of the project across a wider area.
**Duties of the Community Worker will include**:

- To prepare, attend and actively participate in monthly supervision sessions including engaging in the monitoring and review of performance targets
- To work within the policies and procedures of the client and attend appropriate team meetings, training events and staff development days
- To communicate with staff, volunteers, service users and partners in a positive and effective manner
- At all times to work within and actively promote the equal opportunities policy of the client
- At all times to be aware of the health and safety of colleagues, users, local people and self and to work within the health and safety policies of the client
- Work flexibly in terms of responsibilities and working hours as required or directed, including occasional evening and weekend work, carrying out any duties as they arise which are consistent with the general character of the post.

**Key Tasks of the Community Worker**:

- To use an Asset Based Community Development approach to consultation and co-production of older people's projects with existing trust groups and contacts and with wider groups across Inner Central East Bristol
- Support groups to focus on older people's confidence and wellbeing, community cohesion, digital exclusion and barriers to engagement with a view to reengaging them with opportunities to take part in and shape and develop community groups
- Collaborate with Social Prescribers and our Community Development Team (both in house) to facilitate the development and sustainability of small local self-help, self-facilitated groups
- To be involved in co-producing service mapping particularly in relation to Inner City East Bristol
- To be involved in co-producing evaluation tools including stories using Asset Based Community Development techniques, a measuring tool and data from our in-house database
- Work alongside digital exclusion specialists regarding older people's access to IT and using the learning from this to explore the potential to engage older people in remote activities
- To engage in sector-based alliances that support a joined-up approach to supporting older people city wide and to create an Inner-City East Bristol alliance
- Work in partnership with the Trust and other projects that they fund to promote and contribute to the professional running of the project across the region
- Attend relevant meetings as appropriate and as directed
- To attend training that supports personal and professional development in working with a community development approach and gaining expertise in working with marginalised people

**Salary & Holiday**
**Salary**: Scale E, pts 22-25 £21,496 - 23,573 per annum pro rata (successful applicants start at the bottom of the scale)
**Contract Term**:30 hours per week. Fixed term until the 31/03/2024
**Responsible to**: Locality Hub Manager
**Holiday**: 5 weeks (pro rata) per year plus all bank holidays
**Pension**: Employees will be enrolled into the workplace pension if eligible
