**About us**

Pahar Trust Nepal (PTN) is a Bristol-based charity with a mission to build education and health facilities in rural Nepal to improve opportunities for children, young people and their communities.

Over the last 30 years, the Trust's work has impacted over 50,000 lives in rural and isolated communities through 152 school repairs and new buildings, 10 new health centres, 52 water and sanitation projects, 54 science labs, IT suites and libraries andmany more projects including Early Years classroom refurbishments and teacher training. They are needed because rural communities in Nepal are faced with significant challenges to access quality education and health provision. The United Nations place thesecommunities in the lowest band for Human Development. With over 1 million children impacted by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, many thousands of children still do not have access to safe educational facilities.

**Role Summary**

We are seeking a creative and proactive self-starter for a flexible and evolving role to manage and develop our communications, partnerships, fundraising initiatives and donor support.

Key objectives to include:

- Develop existing and new supporter engagement through compelling storytelling and impact reporting across all communication channels
- Development and delivery of a partnership fundraising strategy to increase charitable income from sources including individual giving, fundraising campaigns, corporate giving, grant making and legacies

**Key Responsibilities**

**Communications**

To support the production of regular updates through our social media channels; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn as well as researching and producing copy for our website and newsletters. You will work closely with the Executive Director and membersof the NGO team based in Nepal and UK supporters to identify and produce engaging stories about our work to increase our profile and reach new audiences. Key tasks to include:

- Responsibility for content creation for external and internal audiences including: project information, case studies, images/video, quotes
- Plan and implement online marketing campaigns that drive engagement, traffic, and event bookings/membership sign-ups
- Maintain PTN’s social media communities, scheduling content and monitoring/responding to social media activity, with an emphasis on growing our community and engaging with the public
- Create compelling monthly newsletters
- Support live events through marketing
- Design marketing materials and collateral (including banners, flyers, invitations)
- Ensure all communications are consistent with brand guidelines

**Partnerships**

Working with the Executive Director to develop and deliver partnership fundraising strategies to increase unrestricted and restricted income. You will be expected to support stewardship of all donors as required to ensure their donations are recorded andrecognised within our work.
- Establish relationships with a range of funders and supporters, including corporates, trusts, foundations, and individuals
- Undertake regular research of the funding landscape, identifying potential funding streams
- In collaboration with Executive Director, develop and implement a fundraising strategy that identifies opportunities and generates income from a number of channels
- Responsibility for donor stewardship using CRM platform Donorfy including audience segmentation, engagement, monitoring and reporting
- Support event development, coordination and management
- Support PTN Ambassadors, supporters and fundraisers

**Person specification**

You will be a self-starter with an interest in communications and fundraising with experience of using social media channels and supporting promotional campaigns.

We are looking for someone with the following skills:
**Essential**:

- At least two years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience of successful fundraising through varied sources and donor stewardship
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience of using social media channels
- Creativity in developing and producing case studies and news stories
- Experience of managing multiple projects
- Excellent IT skills including; Word, Excel, Google Suite
- Experience of using CRM systems such as; Donorfy, Mailchimp and Facebook Business Manager
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail

**Desirable**:

- Experience of video editing
- Experience within the International Development sector
- Experience in website management
