We are a Family Run Business who are looking for a new addition to our team to provide top quality Care and Education to Early Years Babies and Young Children.
Hours: up to 36 hours per week Monday to Friday
Shifts 8am-6pm / 8am-2pm / 12-6pm
Contract: FIXED TERM - 18 months
Start Date: as soon as available
Due to increasing demand for Childcare, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, Early Years Apprentice to join our team.

DETAILS OF THE ROLE
The primary role of an Early Years Apprentice is to work as a member of the team to support and assist children and families with children’s physical, social, emotional and development needs. The Early Years Apprentice works with other Early Years Professionals to plan activities to encourage play and sensory stimulation. Although the Early Years Apprentice will work mostly under the direction of professionals, they may also be required to work under their own initiative in situations away from other early years workers.
TRAINING
Your apprenticeship will include a formal training programme leading to an accredited Early Years Educator qualification. You will also receive regular on-the-job training from your manager and colleagues to help you develop in the role.
You will spend 6 hour every week, working towards your qualification or taking part in tutorial meetings and training and development activities. It is important that you work hard on the formal training as well as the on-the-job aspects. Your manager and colleagues at the Nursery will support you.
You will also be required to complete a Paediatric First Aid Course.
When you have completed your apprenticeship, you should have the following knowledge, skills and behaviours:
KNOWLEDGE
You will have a good understanding of:
- Hackenthorpe Hall Nursery, its values, priorities, and the services it provides to children and families.
- How your own work contributes to the Nursery's success.
- Nursery policies and legislation, and know how they apply.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You will:
- Understand children’s early years education and development
- Be able to implement the Early Years curriculum

- Plan and provide effective teaching and learning in Early Years
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment tools in Early Years

- Promote the health, safety and well-being of children
- Child Protection and Safeguarding

- Understand how to promote play and learning
- Support children’s outdoor play
- Understand how to work with families and support them to engage in their child’s learning
- Understand the needs of children who are vulnerable and experiencing poverty and disadvantage
