**The Team**:You will be joining our in-house Broadcasting Editorial Legal & Compliance team which is led by the Legal Director for Broadcasting and reporting to the Head of Editorial Compliance. Working across all our brands, our team is responsible for ensuring our content is in line with the law and Ofcom’s Broadcasting Code.

**Your Role**:As Editorial Compliance Officer, you will be working with our Production teams and with a wide range of other stakeholders across News Broadcasting.

**Day to day you will**:

- Be a point of contact for our regulators, Ofcom, responding to requests for content and assessing the content requested against the Ofcom Code. You will assist with responding to enquiries from Ofcom for ‘background information’ on content, researching and assessing content as needed.
- View and assess video and pre-recorded content TV and audio content, nominating any edits needed before publication.
- Respond to queries and complaints from our listeners and contributors, liaising with internal teams as necessary.
- Working closely with the rest of the Editorial Legal & Compliance team, you will support our busy production teams with ad-hoc advice on a broad range of issues.
- Update training materials and train Production teams on Regulatory requirements and our internal protocols.
- Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times

**What we’re looking for from you**:

- A good eye for detail and structured approach to tasks.
- A good general education with a keen interest in broadcasting, News, current affairs and contemporary culture.
- Some knowledge of the Ofcom Code.
- Able to work under pressure to tight project deadlines and can adapt to differing demands; prioritises tasks, where appropriate.
- Possesses an awareness of the importance of confidential information and how to deal with it.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to interact positively at all levels within the Company, both internally and externally and a good team player.
- Able to demonstrate excellent client/customer facing skills
- An understanding of production processes and the demands of programme making.
- Can demonstrate initiative and the ability to be proactive, while also being able to follow instructions, with supervision.
