The Home Office Data & Identity Directorate is in the Home Office’s Science, Technology, Analysis, Research (STAR) Group and collaborates with partners to make the Department’s vision for data and adoption of data driven technologies a reality. Its role is to help transform how the Home Office and sector look after and use data and data driven technologies to meet Government’s strategic objectives build a Modern Civil Service and maintain the highest levels of public trust and confidence.**Job description**:

- The main purpose of this role is to define, manage and support the delivery of the One Home Office (OHO) data transformation initiative and its nine data strands whilst also shaping our multi-year transformation plan. This will include the management of standardised reporting, measurement of project / programme progress, identification of critical gaps and dependencies and holding stakeholders to account for performance against pre-agreed objectives. In addition, this role will support the data investments; drawing together where and how we are investing and associated benefits.
- The role will suit someone with demonstrable experience in a large-scale or cross-organisation programme or portfolio management role with a focus on finances and benefits, and someone who is confident working in a fast-paced area with high expectations to deliver. This post provides a unique opportunity to develop advanced leadership, portfolio, programme, and project management, strategy and senior stakeholder management skills.
- This post will be based in the locations listed, but there will be flexibility to adopt a hybrid working pattern which would see the post holder spend part of their week working from home.-
**Responsibilities**:

- Your role will involve however is not limited to:
- Support the build of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) associated with the data strands of OHO Data Transformation initiative including: programme reporting, milestone tracking, risk management, budget management, dependency management and workforce planning.
- Ensure robust and credible plans are in place for the data strands within the OHO initiative, with clear milestones and critical path(s). This will include supporting the management of regular reporting across the data strands and tracking progress against the plans.
- Work collaboratively with data strand leads to manage OHO data activities and delivery oversight whilst providing assurances and status updates to appropriate groups.
- Develop and maintain programme and portfolio level artefacts including managing relationships with central HO teams and data strand leads and tracking DCC / HO stakeholders’ tasks in the agreed delivery plan to identify delivery issues and facilitate resolution.
- Support investment management processes to ensure the OHO data initiative and DCC have a clear understanding of the relevant funding positions and the possible impacts to delivery.
- Collate information on current data investment in data transformation initiative and across the organisation.
- Deduplicate and deconflict funding pitch (e.g. SR) submissions across the Home Office and broader sector. This includes continuously improving the process for submitting and coordinating funding pitches.
- Produce clear benefits cases for OHO data initiatives, utilising industry best practices and existing framework.
- Support the DCC by fulfilling and driving PMO requirements, activities, and tasks. The iterative nature of the DCC’s design and launch will require ongoing programme and / or project management responsibilities.
