**About the role**:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Customer Service Adviser to help support our Customer Service team and act as a first point of contact for external and internal enquiries.

This is an exciting and challenging position within our busy Customer Service team. Every day is a different day as we handle a broad variety of enquiries where customer focus, quality work and job satisfaction play a key part. This is a chance for you to learn different skill sets, be a part of the team, and have full support from a network of colleagues and management.

As a Customer Service Adviser, you will be able to resolve and process a range of customer enquiries at the first point of contact, both face-to -face and in our Telephone Contact Centre. You will also be able to identify and understand customer needs and provide a high-quality service to enhance customers’ experience.

**About you**:
To succeed as a Customer Service Adviser, you will need to have the following:

- Experience of working in a contact centre or reception area
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and discretion
- A desire to work with people
- The ability to work as part of a team to deliver results
- The ability to learn and share knowledge
- The desire to achieve your personal best and a keen interest in personal development
- Grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths
- Previous experience of IT systems (Full training will be provided)
