Trust Grade Registrar in Haematology

The post holder will be required to undertake outpatient clinics, which will be in general and malignant haematology. Procedure session will include doing bone marrow aspirates and trephine biopsies and removal of Hickman lines. Laboratory work will be supervised by Consultant Haematologists and will include morphology reporting of blood films and aspirates and authorisation of abnormal coagulation results in addition to training and giving advice in blood transfusion. The post holder will be provided with office space, PC and secretarial support.

The post holder doctor will be expected to take part in CPD activities and maintain record of relevant college (RCP or RCPath). Locum cover will not be provided for leave. They will be expected to complete Trusts mandatory training ON CALL REQUIREMENT: On-call duties include 1 in 4 weekdays and weekend on call with consultant cover. Annual appraisal on yearly basis and any disagreement regarding job plan or appraisal will be referred to Medical Director.
