About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our dynamic team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in providing high-quality care to patients with complex trauma and orthopaedic conditions.

Job Summary:

  • Participate in the consultant-led trauma service, maintaining a high standard of care and contributing to the development of trauma services within the trust.
  • Develop and maintain skills in acute management of complex fractures and reconstruction of intra-articular fractures.
  • Surgically manage a wide range of general orthopaedic trauma cases, including joint replacements, arthroscopic surgery, and upper limb surgery.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals on complex trauma and orthopaedic cases.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Registerable medical qualification, MRCS/FRCS Orthopaedic, with full GMC registration.
  • Experience in all aspects of Trauma and Orthopaedics, with a strong background in lower limb surgery and knee revision surgery.
  • An understanding of principles of clinical audit and evidence of previous audit participation.
  • Committed to training and teaching junior doctors, with experience in postgraduate teaching and training of all grades of staff.
