We are looking for an Experienced Speech and Language Therapist who will be able to use their extensive clinic knowledge to triage new referrals, run digital workshops to support families for children with autism and developmental language difficulties with the option of working remotely. We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist who would be able to run face to face speech assessment clinics and under 11 language assessment clinics in one of our Oxfordshire bases 1-2 days a month (we have clinics in Banbury, Witney, Abingdon, and Oxford).

The role is advertised as a Full time post however we welcome applicants looking for part time.

Supporting families who have children with a range of language needs including children with autism, running digital workshops families of children on the waiting list, carrying out telephone reviews and triage. It would be expected that you would be able to attend some face-to-face meetings.

Working alongside experienced colleagues you would support band 5 and band 4 colleagues. You would support children on our core clinical pathways (Speech Sound Disorders, Language Difficulties, Social Communication) with the opportunity to do some work with our fluency specialist on the Stammering pathway.

The SLT team is made up of Band 5 and 6 Therapists, Technical Assistants, Apprentices, and both Specialist Team Leads and Specialist Clinical Leads (Band 7). We provide Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people aged 0 - 19 years across Oxfordshire in a range of settings. The Service delivery model is based on six Clinical Pathways and underpinned by the current evidence base.

You will have opportunities to work alongside other members of the CIT team - Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and CIT Assistant Practitioners, as well as collaborating with the wider MDT in Education, Health and Social Services. We also have close links with SLTs at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, where specialist services such as the Regional Cleft Palate and Cochlear Implant service are based.

You will be part of the Children’s Integrated Therapy team, providing delivery of on-line specialist Speech and Language Therapy as part of core Service delivery through the Balanced System. You will be responsible for devising and delivering online training linked to our current care pathways. A key part of the role will also be clinical triage where you will have responsibility for identifying clinical need and prioritisation. The role will also include assessment and intervention packages to children and young people up to the age of 19 with impaired speech, language, and communication development. You will have responsibility for your own caseload, as an autonomous practitioner, adapting your approach to meet the needs of the child / young person.

Working with the Children’s SLT Team Leads to ensure an efficient, high quality therapy service is delivered which is evidence-based and centred around the needs of the child/young person.
