Oxford, United Kingdom Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Would you like to join a forward thinking and nurturing ‘5 star’ rated team?

Do you want to develop your skills in acquired communication, voice and swallowing impairments?

We are looking for a band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Service in Oxfordshire.

Our service offers triage, assessment and therapy to adults with acquired communication, voice and swallowing impairments due a variety of medical conditions, including CVA, MND, dementia, Parkinson's and MS. Based in Oxford or Witney, you will be able to work across a range of settings - community hospital, clinic, patient’s homes and care homes

The post is an ideal position for a newly qualified therapist or a Band 5 with some post graduate dysphagia experience. It provides the perfect setting to develop clinical skills across different client groups (acquired neurological, progressive and voice) as well as developing staff management and supervision skills within a supportive environment. We have access to specialist clinics, such as video-fluoroscopy and voice clinics, and receive regular supervision and training from a voice specialist.

We are a flexible service and have been successfully using digital sessions for clinical interventions, training and professional collaboration; allowing members of the team to utilize the benefits of remote working.

You will be joining a supportive team with a dedicated clinical, managerial and peer supervision programme as well as an employee assistance scheme. We have a well-being champion and make time to celebrate our successes along with sharing things that are more challenging.

We see access to continued professional development as vital in both ensuring high quality care and that we enjoy coming to work. Continued professional development is available through our comprehensive learning and development catalogue and leadership development courses, as well as a £1000 individual budget for external courses. Newly qualified practitioners have access to the Trust’s multi-disciplinary Flyer Programme to learn the skills required for a new role and develop confidence as autonomous professionals.

We have yearly team objectives that everyone contributes to and would encourage your involvement in projects and audits.

Benefits of working for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust include:
Excellent opportunities for career progression

27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, with an increase to 33 days with continuous service

NHS Discount across a wide range of shops, restaurants and retailers

Staff accommodation

Competitive pension scheme
