Birmingham, United Kingdom University Hospitals Birmingham Full time

**Job summary**:
Are you a compassionate, caring and considerate person? Are you looking for a sense of achievement in your job? Are you motivated by helping others? If so, then we want to hear from you and others like you.

We can offer part and full time contracts across our four acute hospitals located at QE (B15), Good Hope (B76), Solihull (B91) and Heartlands (B9) and will work with you to accommodate your requirements. Our shift patterns afford us to offer long days, nights and weekends.

As a Trust we invest in our applicants by ensuring you have a full induction to the Trust, on-going training and development along with a mentorship programme that will allow you access to colleagues and our School of Nursing who will support and guide you in your career aspirations. The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) role is the first step on a career ladder that could progress you to future career opportunities in nursing such as our well established Trainee Nursing Associate programme to become a Registered Nursing Associate or Registered Nurse Training.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
As a HCA, your workload will be varied and with that challenging - however, being able to multitask in an efficient manner whilst maintaining a caring and helpful attitude underpins everything you do - to make a difference to your team and the patients that rely on us to care for them. You'll have excellent communication and organisational skills and be confident to make judgements unaided. You will be able to work proactively to problem solve and work on your own initiative.

All Interviews for these opportunities will be on Saturday 30th September at Heartlands Hospital.

**About us**:
We are recognised as one of the leading NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK. Our vision is to Build Healthier Lives, and we recognise that we need incredible staff to do this.

Our commitment to our staff is to create the best place for them to work, and we are dedicated to:
Investing in the health and wellbeing of our staff, including a commitment of offering flexible working where we can;
Offer our staff a wide variety of training and development opportunities, to support their personal and career development objectives.

UHB is committed to ensuring that our staff are treated fairly and feel that they belong, by creating a kind and inclusive environment. This is about equity of opportunity; removing all barriers, including discrimination and ensuring each individual member of staff reach their true potential, achieve their ambitions and thrive in their work. This is more than words. We are taking action. Our commitment to an inclusive culture is embedded at all levels of the organisation where every voice is heard, driven by our diverse and active staff networks, and at Board level by the Fairness Taskforce led by our CEO. We nurture a culture which empowers staff to challenge discriminatory behaviours and to enable people to bring their 'whole self' to a kinder, more connected and bold place to work.
