**Description**:
The main responsibility of this role is to ensure an operational follow-up of distribution in the UK and Ireland, focusing on analysis of sales and profitability by channel.
- Retail environment with total Sales of £60m for the UK & Ireland.
- Part of an international Group
- Multiple-Channel distribution: Retail, Wholesale, eCommerce, B2B, QVC.
- 80 owned stores across UK & Ireland

**This is a 6 month fixed term paternity cover contract.**

**What Will You Do?**:
Responsible for the P&L of a number of channels within the business:

- Monthly financial closure and reporting
- Analysis and comments on monthly results of the channels
- Detailed monthly P&L analysis by business unit (by store, by channel, by customer type)
- Develop & follow up specific cost analysis of areas of focus (e.g. store productivity, ATV etc.)
- Follow up financial KPIs of the channels
- Budget and Reforecast
- In charge of the annual Budget P&L preparation for relevant channels and detailed monthly reviews with relevant Heads of Departments
- Quarterly reforecast for the Group
- Discount and Margin
- Working with Business Partners, review promotional discount and margin for relevant channels to model impact on P&L. Work to ensure impacts are in line with Budget.
- Continual improvement and development of implementation of monitoring tools regarding
- P&L templates and Business Review presentations
- Promotional Performance (inc Sales + Discount + Margin)
- Other operating expenses (Marketing investment, supplies, telephone & postage )
- Follow up and analysis of store profitability for opening and closure decisions as required
- Capex investment and profitability of stores newly opened / refurbished
- Profitability of new contracts/channels
- Follow up of actual profitability vs. forecast, variance analysis & recommendations
- Act as Key User for Finance for SAP, BI, TM1 and Predict (purchase order system)
- Closely business partner with senior leaders, anticipating and highlighting keys risks & opportunities. Working with the business to hit its financial objectives.
- Create awareness in the relevant channel around profitability drivers
- Support organisation and facilitation of physical stock counts, analysis of variances and reporting
- Show critical thinking, ownership and excellent analytical skills.
- Independent, reliable, rigorous and pragmatic.
- Is confident in presenting company information to others. Team worker.
- Act as a leader in the business, representing Finance.
- Able to challenge Senior Management and acts to achieve department objectives
- Understands rationale behind changes and supports implementation
- Is able to prioritize tasks to achieve objectives
- Monitors compliance to company procedures.
- Able to develop, implement and follow up new KPIs
- Qualified (CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
- 5+ years’ experience, preferably in commercial finance roles in Retail / FMCG or equivalent industry, managing Business Unit / Channel P&Ls
- MS office skills with Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience of SAP
- Experience of TM1 or equivalent reporting / forecasting tools
- Good experience of Powerpoint presentation in a concise + clear fashion.
