**Job summary**:
Our public facing team is passionate about giving a warm welcome to visitors and giving the best impression of the Welsh Parliament and the Senedd building.

As a Visitor Experience Assistant, your focus would be on promoting the work of the Senedd. You will be involved in developing experiences and interactions that support visitors gain the knowledge and confidence to participate in political activities both in the building, and in their local area.

We are developing the estate to be a participation hub which people visit to collaborate and share ideas for the future of Wales.

On their journey around the estate, the visitor has: the resources and guidance informing them about how they are represented by the Senedd, as well as a space to post ideas or contribute towards ongoing inquiries, and a café space for reflection and discussion.

You will work in a small team to welcome and introduce visitors to the estate, maintain the day-to-day content that the visitor interacts with, and support the Visitor Experience Officer when developing our future visitor experiences.

**Job description**:
**Key tasks**:

- To welcome and introduce visitors to the estate, and encourage visitors to follow a debate or participate in Senedd business.
- To be a point of contact for visitors and building users.
- To maintain the day-to-day content that the visitor interacts with. This includes having a role in ordering and replenishing publications, and reporting maintenance requirements to internal teams.
- To promote, and show visitors how to use our digital offer; including the audio tour, virtual tour, and online presentations.
- To support the Visitor Experience Officer in coordinating and developing new engagement activities, content for the visitor journey, and when measuring our performance. This could be through administrative tasks such as note taking or some project management, or by creating content such as writing copy or making videos.
- To moderate and support the production of our online presentations. This includes communicating with viewers or supporting the Presenter. Training of how to use the advanced features of Microsoft Teams will be provided.
- To liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure their support when required, such as Communications when developing participation activities, or updating others in the Senedd about developments within our service area.
- To be responsible for for maintaining the visitor’s journey, which include ensuring our visitor displays look tidy, engaging and are well stocked with publications.
- To initiate ways to make the visitor experience relevant, trusted, and as engaging as possible, to raise the profile of the Senedd building as a place to visit.

- ** Strong customer service skills**: to be able to adapt your style and delivery to meet the visitor’s needs and ensure that the best possible customer service is maintained throughout the visitor's journey;
- ** Digital competency**: experience of using Microsoft Word (or similar) to write and collaborate on copy, and be familiar with presenting and communicating using Microsoft Teams (or similar);
- ** Excellent organisation skills**, with the ability to action multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise accordingly.
